A Fond Farewell
On Thursday 5th September, Staff, both past and present, family and friends gathered to celebrate with the wonderful Ms.Kavanagh (or Ms.K as she is also fondly known) as she embarks on her next big adventure, her retirement. Ms. Kavanagh has spent many wonderful years at St. Mary’s, and has shown such dedication and care to pupils, colleagues and the school throughout this time. She has utilised her many talents to enrich the lives of all of us at St.Mary’s. Ms.Kavanagh has an impressive way with words and has written countless poems for special occasions and has even written songs for the school throughout her time here which we all cherish. She is also a dab hand at whipping up worksheets that are relevant and tailored to pupils’ needs to ensure that she meets each child where they are at whilst encouraging them to build self-confidence and reach their full potential.
Thursday’s celebrations were very fitting, Ms.Kavanagh even brought her guitar and we all enjoyed a sing-song. It really was a wonderful evening celebrating a fabulous Teacher, collegue and friend!
Ms. Kavanagh will be truly missed in St. Mary’s but we hope that she will pop back and visit us from time to time to regale us with stories of the many adventures we are sure she will enjoy!
From all the staff, students and wider community of St. Mary’s, Ms. Kavanagh, we wish you the very best and hope that in retirement you get to experience your most exciting adventures yet! :)
