Paw Poem
We’re missing dear old Begley,
(He’s a member of our Staff),
He brings the pupils out for walks
And loves to hear them laugh.
Today he had to phone the school,
He sounded in a muddle,
“I’ve an injured foot and that’s not cool.
I think it needs a cuddle.”
“I’ll have to put the job on paws,
And rest until I’m better.
Will someone please remind me
That I’m not an Irish Setter!
I only have these little legs
(There’s nothing wrong with that)
But I wish they were like Realtin’s
When I’m trying to chase the cat!
I wish that I was tall and slim
But I know I shouldn’t worry,
The pupils seem to love me
‘Cos I’m short and cute and furry!
If my foot was not so sore
I’d write a longer letter
But rest assured that I’ll be back
As soon as I am better!”
