Internet Safety

St. Mary’s encourages the safe use of the Internet and mobile devices by students. Staff teach and encourage responsible use of the internet through classroom discussions and through the use of educational resources such as webwise.ie

Digital literacy skills are key life skills for students. They need to learn to keep personal information private and how to get help when problems arise. Towards this end, the school has a Digital Citizenship Policy. The school also uses content filtering and has a whole school education programme which follows the curriculum.

We understand and promote the sensible use of digital media so that it can have a positive influence on young people’s lives as a way of learning, communicating and exploring their world.
